James Sweetnam
James Sweetnam is a singer, guitarist and producer based in Cape Town, South Africa. He grew up in a small, quiet town nestled in a valley, named Greyton.
It was not until he started university that he found his love for music. One of his roomates introduced him to the world of music and sound engineering. Then, as Covid-19 locked the world down he picked up an old guitar and found the passion for which he was always searching.
Since then he has not looked back. He has written, recorded and produced all of his own music and crafted a unique sound on his journey into live-looping. He served his musical apprenticeship playing lead guitar for the rising Afrikaans music star “Tino”.
His release style blends genres from Pop and Rock to Indie and Jazz.
Stephen Truce
Stephen Truce (Shinga Stephen A. Magede) is a Zimbabwean born musician based in Cape Town, South Africa. He studied a Bachelor of Arts in Sound Production following his passion for music and started writing songs at the age of 10. He first discovered music production in 2014 with FL Studio and began working with long time friend The LoFi Kid (Keith Peter) on creating instrumentals and writing lyrics before moving onto Logic and Pro Tools.
His first release, "My Little Baby" a cover of a song by Christian Hiphop artist "Canon" came out in 2016 on the ReFilled Records Youtube Channel followed by many others. Originals began to form in 2017, mostly working with The LoFi Kid. His music is a strong mix of modern Hiphop and Pop/Alternative Pop.
He is strongly influenced by artists such as Gawvi, Post Malone, Pentatonix, Lecrae and Zimbabwe's own Takura. Growing in production experience with a career to build, Stephen Truce is out of the woodworks and ready to share his talents and light hearted optimism through his music.
